Heroes of Might and Magic Online: Golden Edition officially entered its open beta at 15:00 July 8, 2009. NetDragon Inc., the leading Chinese online game developer and publisher who has gained the exclusive license of Heroes of Might and Magic Online from France-based Ubisoft, spent the past 5 years developing and testing Heroes of Might and Magic Online, a MMOPRG dedicated to bringing the classic Heroes of Might and Magic series back to life on the internet. Based on the classic Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Heroes of Might and Magic Online reproduces the well-known scenes such as the Enroth continent, the kingdom of Erathia etc, and presents you with an epic battlefield comprising of 4 magic systems, 8 races, 32 heroes and 56 types of units. With a massive epic quest system inherited from the single-player series, Heroes of Might and Magic Online allows you to retrieve the lost memories, and brings you into a world of revenge, betray, confrontation, castle, strategy and battle.
Creative Elements and Unique Features

Castle-building Function
Castle is forever the subject and symbol of this heroes' world. In this updated version, you will notice that not only the castles are easier to operate but also there are some unexpected surprises.

» A beautiful castle housekeeper is introduced to help you take care of all the trifles in the castle.
» The castle-rebuilding function is made available. As long as your reputation meets the requirements, you will be able to rebuild the secondary castle into one belonged to another race by spending a certain amount of magic stones. After being rebuilt, the castle's level will remain keep the same, but please note that the heroes' souls won't remain.
Team-based PK
As units in the wild gradually become stronger, team-based leveling in the wild becomes possible as well.

Tactical Skill and Anti-magic Spell
In this updated version, the long-awaited tactical skill and anti-magic spell will all be made available, among which, anti-magic spell is a mono magic and is only affected by the level of Earth skills.
It is also worth nothing that there exists neutralizing effects between the tactical skills of the heroes. If the two opposing players have the same level of tactical skills, they won't be able to cast tactical skills. However, if there is level difference, the hero at lower level won't be able to deploy tactics.
About Heroes of Might and Magic series
As the king of turn-based strategy games, Heroes of Might and Magic series had brought a lot of happy moments to players, witnessed their growth, and eventually become an everlasting memory in their hearts. In 1995, Heroes of Might and Magic I, a game developed by New World Computing (“NWC”), emerged as a legendary strategy game. In 1997, 3DO spent 13 million US dollars to acquire NWC-developed Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars, and published The Price of Loyalty, the expansion pack of Heroes of Might and Magic II six months later, gradually constructing the framework of the Heroes of Might and Magic series. In February 1999, 3DO released Heroes of Might and Magic 3: the Restoration of Erathia, the masterpiece of Heroes of Might and Magic series.
After that, two more expansion packs, Armageddon's Blade and Shadow of Death were released as well. In September 2002, Heroes of Might and Magic IV, a completely new title which later became the most controversial work in the Heroes of Might and Magic history, was rolled out silently. In August 2003, Ubisoft purchased the copyrights of Heroes of Might and Magic series. About 3 years later, the long-awaited Heroes of Might and Magic V finally made its appearance in May 2006. In 2005, NetDragon Websoft Inc. obtained the exclusive license from Ubisoft to develop and operate Heroes of Might and Magic Online in Asia.
